Japanese law translation web site
Japanese govetnment inttiatted an official English website which features an English=Japanese dictionary and English-Japanese translations of laws and regurations.
The government is trying to rectify the problem of international commerce and economic dealing caused by the language barrier. To enhance transparency of the legal system and boost the confidence of the international community, the Justice Ministry on April 1, 2009 launched the Web site Japanese Law Translation.
The bilingual dictionary provides some 3,700 legal terms and phrases. The site also includes more than 180 laws that have been translated based on the dictionary, and more translations of laws are coming on the way.
The materials can be downloaded, or users can search the laws or legal terms by keywords. The translated names of all existing laws and regulations have been compiled.
